Welcome to CAT.ZERO – a new not-for-profit organisation
which is delivering innovative youth development training in
Hull & East Yorkshire. Thank you for visiting our web site.

If you are a young person interested in joining one of our
programmes, or already signed up, there is a special area
for you. Please go to the YOUNG PEOPLE section by clicking here.

On the other hand if you’re a potential volunteer, partner or
funder looking for more detail on CAT.ZERO and its
programmes you’ve come to the right place.

A word from the Chair:

CAT.ZERO has been established to help local young people in need of help, especially those not in employment, education or training, to make progress towards the world of work through challenging educational and personal development programmes which use sailing as a focal point.
The experience is motivational and designed to bring about attitudinal change.

I have experienced at first hand how life at sea can make a huge impact on young people’s self esteem, pride, taking on new responsibilities and developing a desire to succeed. We believe that by combining this experience with practical skills, work experience and mentor support, we can make a huge difference in young people’s lives.

But we need your help: By working in partnership with local organisations we can make a huge impact on improving the prospects of young people facing challenges in moving onto the world of work, training or further education. We are looking for volunteers to help deliver the programme and mentor young people; plus we require a variety of work placements and familiarity visits. There is more information in our PARTNERS section. Please CONTACT US to discuss how you can help in greater detail. The growing list of partners is acknowledged at the bottom of this page.

On this web site you can also discover more ABOUT US and access details about the PROGRAMMES we operate – such as Wilberforce Youth Development which is funded by the ONE HULL local strategic partnership and NHS Hull.

Thank you for your interest and to all the organisations and individuals who have already become partners in improving young people’s lives in this area.
