Danny Watson , the Skipper who trained the Hull & Humber crew on Clipper 07-08 heads up the CAT.ZERO team. Prior to joining Clipper for the 05-06 race he was skipper of the Ocean Youth Trust North West, working with young people (see biography on the Team page). The aim is to broaden the horizons of the young people who take part – to take them on a journey of self discovery and development – to demonstrate that they can take on the world and succeed. CAT.ZERO is hosted by Hull & East Yorkshire Community Foundation, which is dedicated to strengthening local communities, creating opportunities and tackling issues of disadvantage and exclusion. It manages funds donated by individuals and organisations, building endowment and acting as the vital link between donors and local needs, connecting people with causes, and enabling clients to achieve far more than they could ever by themselves. It is hosting CAT.ZERO and is managing the funding and evaluation of the Wilberforce Youth Development programme. |
